ore than 100 music performances are set to enliven a multi-genre annual music festival at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Oct. 28-30.
Initiated by independent (indie) recording label Demajors and event organizer Dyandra Promosindo, Synchronize Fest 2016 seeks to attract fans of “non-mainstream” musicians, such as 90's Hiphop All Star (Iwa K, NEO, Sweet Martabak, among others), Agrikulture, Efek Rumah Kaca, Endank Soekamti, Float, Gugun Blues Shelter, Koil, Krakatau, Pure Saturday, Seringai, Shaggydog, Sore, Taring and White Shoes & The Couples Company.

During the event's press conference on Wednesday, Endah Widiastuti from pop-folk duo Endah N Rhesa said this kind of festival was something that she had dreamed of for a long time and served as "an answer to many [indie] musicians' anxiety".
“Hopefully [indie] musicians can have the same level of professionalism as other [mainstream] musicians,” she said as quoted by kompas.com.
Slated to perform together with Bali-based folk group Dialog Dini Hari under the name DDHEAR, Endah said the upcoming festival might serve as their last stage appearance together as their collaboration will end this year.
"We will continue with our own projects starting next year," said Endah. (kes)
