ver had a question for experts that you have been dying to ask? A newly launched app, Whale, founded by startup icon Justin Kan aims to connect those with unanswered questions with experts, influencers and celebrities.

Users will receive answers through a short video, thus engaging them in a personal form of communication, as quoted by dailysocial.id. As a fee will be applied for each question, users can expect to get a satisfying response from the people they have chosen. Users who ask sharp questions will also gain an advantage whenever other users pay to watch the reply video to their question.

Whale’s official Twitter account posted names of some of the experts who have answered questions, such as marketer Paris Rouzati, who is listed in Forbes 30 under 30 in Marketing and Advertising, ProductHunt founder Ryan Hoover and senior editor Casey Newton.

Kan himself, who founded the live streaming pioneer Justin.tv, later rebranded as Twitch, noticed how he received a lot of the same questions, such as how he learned to program, how he began his startup and where he found his technical co-founder.

“I figured I should create an app where I can have a library of my answers and everyone could go back and reference them,” he said in his vlog SillyKan Valley.

He also noticed how many social media influencers were having difficulties in monetizing their audiences. “So we thought we could combine those two things and create a platform where audience members can ask questions and influencers can monetize."

Whale is currently only available for iOS devices. (wir/kes)
