ctress, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Miss World 2000 winner Priyanka Chopra was officially named a LinkedIn Influencer on Monday. 

The 34-year-old shared her enthusiasm to be part of the community through a tweet that she posted along with a link to her LinkedIn profile: "Excited to be a LinkedIn Influencer... A new platform, a new audience, a new perspective.”

Priyanka will join a highly-selected group of LinkedIn influencers comprising of esteemed figures like UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon, Qantas CEO Alan Joyce and Oprah Winfrey. Through a featured LinkedIn article posted Monday, she shared nine essential life lessons on building one’s career, which she had personally acquired on her own journey to success.

In light of her early career as a beauty pageant contestant/actress in India, who then made the plunge into both Hollywood and entrepreneurship, Priyanka notes in the article: “Every successful career, in any field, will definitely have an evolution. Complacency sets in if you don’t try and evolve.” 

Priyanka also emphasizes on the idea of paving her own path as she says both in the article and video interview, “[I am create] something that is my own legacy rather than being one of the many successful people in the world. So I work towards that.”

Ever since she engrained herself in the Bollywood industry with films like Barfi!, Fashion and Mary Kom, Priyanka emerged in Hollywood with main roles in the TV show Quantico and soon the film-version of the popular TV series Baywatch. (mra/kes)
