Cardinal Bertello praised the harmonious cross-religion relationship in Indonesia during his speech, which makes the relationship between Indonesia and the Holy See special, as reported by Antara news agency. Moreover, the project aims to facilitate cultural dialogue between the Catholic Church and Indonesia.

After citing the importance of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity) as the country's motto, Arief said the symbol of harmonious inter-religious relationships in Indonesia could be seen in the close proximity of Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral Church in Central Jakarta.

Following the welcoming speeches, Arief handed over a symbolic Borobudur stupa to Cardinal Bertello. The stupa that will be installed in the project will be 3.6 meters high with a diameter of 3.8 m. (wir/kes)
