Starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, Allied is arguably one of this year’s most hotly-anticipated movies.
The story revolves around a romance between two World War II spies. The theme and the big-name actors promise a good movie, but it’s the final scene that will leave you dumbfounded.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Allied starts in Casablanca.
A Canadian intelligence officer Max Vattan (Pitt) lands in the Moroccan dessert on a mission to kill a German official with the help from his fake wife, a charming French fighter, Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard).
The intense alliance leads to the two agents falling in love. Long story short, they get married and spend a year living a peaceful life together in Hampstead, the United Kingdom. Problems arise when Vattan’s superior informs him that Beausejour might be a German spy. Vattan has to choose between defending the love of his life or killing her. However, Vattan is certain that his wife is innocent and does everything he can to prove it.

The beginning of the movie is amazing. The fast-paced storyline and glamorous life in Casablanca amuses the audience. Allied also inserts a few hints from the classic film Casablanca, which makes it all the more charming.
Allied is entertaining, especially for fans of Pitt, who acts superbly as always. (kes)
