S

outh Korean stars from the Law of the Jungle reality show — including actors Gong Myung and Kim Min-seok as well as K-pop stars Sungyeol of Infinite and Jin of BTS — have arrived in Manado, North Sulawesi, to film an episode.

Local authorities welcomed the shoot in the province as it is expected to help boost tourism.

“They will help promote the beautiful beaches and nature of North Sulawesi,” tourism agency head Happy Korah said on Wednesday.

“The shooting will take place from November 26 at Tangkoko Bitung, Mahoro Siau Island and Nani Wartabone Kotamobagu National Park,” she added.

North Sulawesi aims to increase its number of visitors from South Korea. “We expect the number of Korean visitors will reach 25,000 next year,” Korah said, adding that she was optimistic the target could be achieved. “We have lots of K-pop fans who will welcome them warmly.”

The Korea Herald reported that the Sulawesi episode would be followed by an East Timor edition.

Gong is the second member from acting group Surprise to feature on the show, following Seo Kang-jun, while Jin is the first BTS member to appear. The edition will mark Sungyeol’s third appearance on the show, following previous Panama and Mayan jungle episodes. (yan)
