K-pop YouTube sensation Psy finally held his first performance in Indonesia at the Oppo Selfie Fest held at the Indonesia Convention and Exhibition (ICE) center in BSD, Serpong in Tangerang on Thursday night.

“I really want to thank Indonesia because when I released 'Gangnam Style', 'Gentleman', 'Hangover', 'Daddy', they all have been really popular on iTunes. Every song were among the top 10 in Indonesia. I thank you so much. I know this is kind of late but still, thank you very much,” said the man, who was dressed in black and gold.
Psy performed three of his recent hits, including "Gentleman", "Daddy" and "Gangnam Style". Along with his six back-up dancers, the singer, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, danced each of the iconic movements from his songs. He also asked the audience, which were busy recording him using their cellphones, to just dance along to the beat of his club-styled songs.
“You have the energy but everybody is taking pictures right now so hopefully, with the second song, maybe we can play together,” he addressed the crowd.

Prior to Psy's performance, local artists showcased their talents, including the newly appointed Oppo ambassador Raisa, who sang "Jatuh Hati" (Falling in Love), "Tentang Cinta" (About Love) and "Kali Kedua" (The Second Time), Isyana Sarasvati, who belted out "Kau Adalah" (You Are) and "Pesta" (Party), and Maliq & D’Essentials, who performed "Setapak Sriwedari" (A Step of Sriwedari) and "Pilihanku" (My Choice).
Oppo Selfie Fest “Dare to Dream” was held to celebrate the third anniversary of the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer’s establishment in Indonesia.
In a press conference, Oppo Indonesia spokesman Aryo Meidianto offered his gratitude to fans of the brand, saying that at first the company was not sure that it would thrive in Indonesia but now it plans to expand into the Timor Leste market next year. (kes)
