a href="https://play.google.com/store" target="_blank">Google Play revealed this year's most popular Android apps on its digital distribution service in the Indonesian market on Thursday.

In the best game category, local game Tahu Bulat (round tofu), a simulation game inspired by a real tahu bulat food truck business in Indonesia, successfully entered the top five alongside big names like Pokemon Go and Clash Royale. Meanwhile, local book titles dominated the most popular list with the top three being My Stupid Boss 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Supernova 6: Inteligensi Embun Pagi (Supernova 6: Morning Dew Intelligence) and Milea: Suara dari Dilan (Milea: The Voice from Dilan). As for best film, the category was filled by children's movies like Zootopia, The Good Dinosaur and The Jungle Book.

"A 50 percent discount for most popular books in 2016 is available today on Google Play Books," announced the company in a press release.

Flight and hotel booking site Traveloka topped the best local app category, followed by online transportation app Go-Jek and e-commerce OLX. While the best apps this year are photography app Camera360 Lite, browser app Opera News Lab, selfie app Face Changer 2, video calling app Google Duo and Facebook's video selfie app MSQRD. (wir/kes)
