D.id the Indonesian subsidiary of the Chinese e-commerce giant has introduced a donation program to help the victims of the recent earthquake in Pidie Jaya regency in Aceh.
Through the JD.id Bantu Aceh (JD.id helps Aceh) program, the company says it will donate Rp 1,000 (7 US cents) from each successful transaction made on the website from Dec. 9-12.
“As a company operating in Indonesia, we feel compelled to do something within our capacity,” JD.id said in an official statement, noting that the program would be conducted by utilizing the momentum prior to Harbolnas (National Online Shopping Day).

The collected donations will be distributed to the people of Aceh through local charity organization Dompet Dhuafa to help rebuild prayer houses and schools and provide medicine and food supplies.
Since Dec. 5, JD.id has also conducted a discount promotion event relevant to Harbolnas, dubbed "Everyday is Awesome”, which will run until Dec. 14. (kes)
