ansamu Yama Pranata immediately grabbed public attention for his performance in the first leg of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup final at Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday night. His goal in the 70th minute brought victory to Indonesia against Thailand, 2-1.

As compiled by tempo.co, here are some fun facts about this talented soccer player.

1. The 21-year-old was born in Mojokerto, East Java, on Jan. 16, 1995. Prior to joining the national soccer team (Timnas), he joined a coaching project for Indonesian young players in Uruguay, SAD Indonesia, between 2011 and 2013.

2. His goal against Thailand was his second goal for Timnas from three appearances.

3. Hansamu was previously not included in the squad for the group stage in the Philippines. Coach Alfred Riedl called him up when Yanto Basna and Fachrudin became injured prior to the semifinal. He was deemed the right replacement for Yanto.

4. Prior to the AFF Cup, Hansamu became a trending topic as netizens considered him to be the cause of Irfan Bachdim's injury, which led to the striker's failure to make the final squad for the cup.  

5. Hansamu was named vice-captain for Timnas U-19 (under 19 years old). He played 25 times for “Garuda Muda”, contributing one goal. During his time with Timnas U-23, he made 13 appearances and also scored one goal for the side. (kes)
