ctress and model, Luna Maya has officially joined the cast of the second instalment of Dewi Lestari’s “Filosofi Kopi The Movie”, titled “Filosofi Kopi: Ben & Jody”. Luna will play a character named Tarra.
The movie is directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, and stars Chicco Jerikho, Rio Dewanto and Nadine Alexandra. The first Filosofi Kopi movie won Best Adapted Screenwriting and Best Editing at the 2015 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI).
“Filosofi Kopi The Movie” was adapted from a short story by Indonesian novelist Dewi Lestari. The story revolves around Jody (Rio Dewanto) and Ben (Chicco Jerikho), childhood best friends who are obsessed with finding the perfect coffee blend in their Filosofi Kopi coffee shop.

Awards won by “Filosofi Kopi The Movie” include recognitions from international forums such as Best Ensemble Cast in the World Premiere Film Festival in Manila. The movie was also screened at several film festivals namely Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival 2015, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in Korea and also Silk Road International Film Festival in China.
Meanwhile, antaranews.com reported that although cast members have been confirmed, other details about the upcoming sequel, such the storyline, are yet to be released. The production of “Filosofi Kopi: Ben & Jody” is slated to begin in early 2017. (asw)
