ollowing American TV network CBS' announcement last July that it would spin off Carpool Karaoke as its own series on Apple Music, it has been revealed that the show will feature a rotating line-up of drivers instead of only one host.

Although the following is not the entire list of hosts and guests who will appear in the series, so far E! News has confirmed that John Legend will be paired with Alicia Keys (with a special appearance from Taraji P. Henson), Ariana Grande with Seth MacFarlane, Billy Eichner with Metallica, Blake Shelton with Chelsea Handler and last but not least, Will Smith with none other than James Corden himself.

According to Daniel Kreps of Rolling Stone, in the episode where Billy Eichner takes the wheel alongside Metallica, they will drive around Hollywood and make a pitstop at a supermarket to serenade workers behind a deli meat counter.

"We're really excited about the pairings we're putting together," Corden said.

The decision to have not only Corden host the show, said executive producer Eric Pankowski, was made because:What James does is so special and so singular and unique, that it was silly to try to replicate and duplicate that."

Nonetheless, Corden remains a huge part of decision making around celebrity pairings and the plotlines of the show.

Slated to debut later this year, the Apple Music Carpool Karaoke series will consist of 16 half-hour episodes with the addition of interviews with the artists as opposed to just singing during a drive. (nik/kes)
