Steve Harvey arrived in Manila on Saturday to host the 65th Miss Universe coronation night on Jan. 30.

The American TV personality shot to global attention last year because of a gaffe where he named Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez as the new Miss Universe instead of Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

The Department of Tourism said in December last year that Harvey would host the international beauty competition to use the opportunity to make up for depriving Wurtzbach of her moment in last year’s coronation.

The Miss Universe coronation night will be at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
