ver wanted to be paid to travel around the world and drink? The French company behind Absolut Vodka is said to be looking for a new “sensory expert,” also dubbed “The Billion Dollar Nose.”

According to the LinkedIn job listing, the applicant must be a “tastemaker and trendspotter,” a “leader and entrepreneur,” a “storyteller and a star,” as well as a “doer and team player” to qualify for the job.

“This is one of the most complex jobs in the business—you need to be equal parts innovator, chemist, teachers, creator and ambassador,” said Absolut’s current Billion Dollar Nose, Per Hermansson, as quoted by travelandleisure.com. “This person not only needs to have the technical skills needed for the job but also a passion for creativity.”

Hermansson is retiring after four decades as a “sensory expert”.

While there are many requirements that come with being the company’s sensory expert -- all serious applicants need to have "documented blending skills" and a "comprehension of texture in spirits”-- a pronounced sense of smell is the most important.

“Smell is directly connected to the limbic system—our center for wants, desires and emotions,” according to a statement by Absolut. “The successful candidate will need to be able to break through the noise and really pay attention to those unconscious bodily sensations.” (sul/kes)
