The annual art fair ART|JOG|10 is slated to run from May 19 to June 19 at the Jogja National Museum in Yogyakarta.

This year, the event is set to showcase hundreds of artworks created by 73 local and foreign artists.

Themed “Changing Perspective”, the organizer is said to curate the artists via an open call application and by invitation. The former, which aims to scout the best young talents, ended on Sunday. Meanwhile, the latter will include foreign artists from Singapore, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.

The programs on offer include an exhibition from scanography artist Angki Purbandono in collaboration with actor Nicholas Saputra, contemporary artist Agus Suwage, painter I Nyoman Masriadi and photo manipulator Agan Harahap.

In addition to the exhibition, ART|JOG|10 will also have a Commission Work program that features Wedhar Riyadi’s balloon installation, a Young Artist Award, a Curatorial Tour, Meet the Artist, a Merchandise Project, performances by Melati Suryodharmo and a screening of the silent movie Setan Jawa by Garin Nugroho and Rahayu Supanggah.

This time around, ART|JOG|10 will also host new programs, namely the making of the RJ Katamsi statue, an Open Air Cinema and Jogja Art Weeks.

Ignatia Nilu, a curator team member of ART|JOG|10, said in a press release that the artworks were chosen not only based on the compatibility between the piece and curatorial concept, but also the artist's personality, presentation method and the newness of ideas.

ART|JOG was previously known as the Jogja Art Fair. The annual event was held for the first time in 2008. (kes)
