ollowing an acid attack against Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan, legendary rock band Slank gave replica shields to KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo as a symbol of defense against those who seek to weaken the commission.

According to kompas.com, the plastic shields looked like the fictional "vibranium" shield used by Marvel Comics superhero Captain America because of its round shape and red-and-white colors. In the Marvel universe, Captain America's shield is almost indestructible and has eight times more power than aluminum and is 10 times stronger than steel.

"This [attack against Novel Baswedan] is like a test case to see how much support people have for the KPK. Slank still and will support the KPK even more today [for it to] fight against corruption," said Slank drummer Bimbim during an anti-corruption event at the band's headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday night.

This is not the first time the band has shown support for the commission. In early 2016, for instance, they held a small concert at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, performing anti-corruption songs. (kes)
