‘Gintama’ live action movie trailer released

A new trailer has just begun streaming from the official website of the live-action movie adaptation of Gintama.

new trailer has just begun streaming from the official website of the live-action movie adaptation of Gintama.

The upcoming movie’s poster has also been unveiled, and features the cast of characters that will be appearing in the film.

Gintama, the live-action movie, will premiere in Japanese theaters on July 14.

Gintama is set in an alternate late Edo period, where the earth was invaded and successfully conquered by aliens. The central character is an eccentric samurai named Gintoki Sakata who makes a living taking odd jobs wherever he can find them. Along with companions Kagura and Shinpachi Shimura, they go about their business of completing various tasks and getting into all sorts of trouble.

The manga, written by Hideaki Sorachi, began publishing in 2004 and has remained one of the top-ranked manga in Japan. Sixty-eight volumes have been published so far. The manga has already entered its final arc in July 2016.
