An Apple Store is no longer just going to be a place to buy the latest iPhone, but a place to learn.
Called “Today at Apple”, advanced classes on a number of subjects will be held in all of Apple’s 495 official stores. In certain areas, classes and workshops may be led by professional artists, photographers or musicians.
“At the heart of every Apple Store is the desire to educate and inspire the communities we serve,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, in a post on Apple’s blog.

“‘Today at Apple is one of the ways we’re evolving our experience to better serve local customers and entrepreneurs. We’re creating a modern-day town square, where everyone is welcome in a space where the best of Apple comes together to connect with one another, discover a new passion, or take their skill to the next level. We think it will be a fun and enlightening experience for everyone who joins.”
The 60 different classes will focus on creativity and will range from art to coding to music. Most of them will take place outside of stores, like the Photo and Sketch Walks, which “help attendees go beyond capturing moments by exploring new techniques hands on as they interact in their local community.”
The list of classes and scheduling will be announced in May. (sul/kes)
