nother book to drama series adaptation is coming to Netflix, this time based on the popular series of fantasy novels and short stories, The Witcher Saga.

Originally published in Polish, The Witcher was adapted into a highly successful video game series in 2007 by CD Projekt RED.

“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” said Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of the books, in an official statement. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”

Sapkowski does not profit from the game series but will serve as a creative consultant on the Netflix's English language adaptation. 

It has also been announced that visual effects studio Platige Image SA – which also contributed to the video game -- will be working on the show, but there has been no news on whether the show will be live action or CG animated. (sul/kes)
