Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are in talks to finally reunite on the TV screen.
The two, who were last seen together on the hit TV series Friends in 2000 when Witherspoon briefly guest starred as the little sister to Aniston’s Rachel Green, will star in and act as executive producers on a series about morning news shows and the New York media landscape.
While the series hasn’t been picked up by a network at this time, discussions with cable executives and streaming services are expected soon, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported on the new series last Thursday.

It’s still too early to discuss specifics, with Aniston’s representative, Stephen Huvane, saying that, “The project is still in development and it’s premature to discuss at this point.”
This would be Aniston’s first regular TV appearance since 2004 when Friends came to an end, for which she received an Emmy.
Aniston has expressed interest in returning to television, saying “I’ve thought about it a lot […] That’s where the work is. That’s where the quality is. At this point in my career, I want to be part of wonderful stories, exciting characters, and also just having a good time.”
Witherspoon was also recently nominated for an Emmy for her role in HBO’s Big Little Lies. (tha/kes)
