Jakarta is set to host the Nakama Festival on Sept. 2-3 at Ecopark Ancol, North Jakarta.

Said to be the largest Japanese festival that will be held annually, the event will feature renowned duo from Japan Do As Infinity (DAI), platoon-sized girl band JKT48 and several local bands, such as Tokyolite, Honeybeat and Can I Rock.

According to the event’s rundown, the venue will be divided into outdoor and indoor areas. First-day visitors can expect to watch performances by JKT48, ONE OK ROCK's tribute band Can I Rock, Jakarta-based Vocaloid producer group REDSHiFT, Honeybeat and Japanese musician Hiroaki Kato.

Meanwhile, the second day line-up include Bogor-based funk-pop band Tokyolite who will serve as the opening act for DAI. Also slated to perform are Japanese idol group Enka Girl Lupinus Team and Jakarta-based band that mainly covers Japanese rock and metal songs, Wyvern.

In addition to music, the event will host several Japanese-influenced activities, such as Japanese tea ceremony, obake yashiki (haunted attraction) inspired by the haunted Aokigahara forest in Japan and many games.

Tickets to the festival can be purchased on the event's official website and its partners with prices starting at Rp 165,000 (US$12). Tent packages are also available for those seeking to attend both days of the event. (kes)
