ith a career in the United States and working with Hollywoord players, Indonesian director Livi Zheng maintains strong ties to her roots, as she is set to include Balinese gamelan in the film scoring of the upcoming Insight

"I want to add a lot of gamelan," Livi said while speaking to kompas.com in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Livi said she is set to collaborate with musician I Nyoman Wenten, whom she is currently working with on a documentary film on the story of the US-based gamelan maestro himself and Balinese gamelan.

The director added that she wanted to include the musical instrument on the soundtrack of Insight in order to bring an Indonesian flavor to the film.

Set to be released in 2018, Insight is martial arts film that tells the story of a pair of sibling Jian (Ken Zheng) and Bao, who have the sixth sense.

Long separated, problem arise when Jian received a shocking news that Bao was killed in Los Angeles, US. Jian later flew to the US to investigate the cause of his brother's death, where he also had to deal with the mafia syndicate.

The film cast include Tony Todd (Final Destination), Keith David (Armageddon and The Chronicles of Riddick), John Savage (The Godfather III) and Francois Chau (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II). (liz/kes)
