Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg hops on a virtual reality adventure

Who could possibly showcase Facebook’s newest virtual reality feature? None other than Mark Zuckerberg, of course.
The gray-shirt-clad founder and CEO put Facebook Spaces — Facebook’s virtual reality platform — to the test and “visited” places such as his own home, Puerto Rico, and even the Moon on Tuesday morning.
Tagging along Facebook’s social virtual reality head Rachel Franklin, the duo was first transported to the Zuckerberg home, then to the country recently hit by hurricane Maria. Here, he also took the time to announce an effort in cooperation with the Red Cross to help those affected by the recent tragedy.
“We use artificial intelligence (AI) to build what we call population maps. So, you can look at the satellite imagery of an area and get the sense of where people actually live, the density of different places, and when there’s infrastructure going to these places,” Zuckerberg explained how the relief organization will join forces with the social media site.

Recently, the social media site had set up a Recovery Fund for hurricane Maria victims, where users can donate any amount they wish.
Lastly, Zuckerberg and Franklin took to the Moon, surprisingly bringing along his dog Beast. Both also took a selfie while there. He also teased a big announcement coming on Wednesday, as part of the fourth Oculus Connect, according to The Verge.
Facebook Spaces was launched in April and is available through Oculus Rift.
