he cast and crew of the upcoming Indonesian film Wiro Sableng planted 212 tree seedlings at Kawah Putih in West Java on Oct. 13.
Actors Vino G. Bastian, Marsha Timothy and Sherina Munaf took part in the planting, held in part of Mount Patuha’s protected forest.
Sheila Timothy, the producer of Wiro Sableng, said it was their way of giving back to nature, as they had used the area as a filming location.
“Two one and two are the numbers [tattooed] on Wiro Sableng’s chest and they have their own philosophy,” Sheila said in a press release, adding that the planting location was provided by state-owned forestry firm Perhutani, which also maintains the area.

“Perhutani has also named the planting location ‘Wiro Sableng’,” Sheila said. “Hopefully [the plants will help] Patuha’s protected forest be greener and more beautiful.”
Helmed by Angga Sasongko, Wiro Sableng is part of a collaboration between Lifelike Pictures and Fox International Productions. It is based on a popular novel and comic book that was later adapted into a TV show in the 1990s.
The movie is slated for release in local cinemas in 2018. (kes)
