ust four days after being released, local movie Dilan 1990 has attracted more than 1 million viewers, making it the country's most popular film so far this year.
Adapted from Pidi Baiq’s best-selling novel Dilan: Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 (He is My Dilan Year 1990), the movie follows Milea who just moved from Jakarta to Bandung in 1990 and later falls in love with Dilan who she meets in high school.
“From the beginning, I had a feeling that this movie would be watched by millions. Thank God, I was right,” said Max Pictures producer Ody Mulya in a press release as quoted by Antara.

Ody added that he was delighted that the movie starring Iqbaal Ramadhan and Vanesha Prescilla had also garnered mostly positive reviews from netizens.
“Thank God, our hard work has paid off as the audiences have been entertained. This inspires us to create a sequel."
On the third day of its release, Dilan 1990 reportedly garnered around 411,000 viewers, almost exceeding the record for Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss last year. (rzf/kes)
