ndonesian actor and martial artist Iko Uwais celebrated his birthday on Monday, Feb. 12. He received a special birthday message from fellow actor Joe Taslim.

On his official Instagram account, Joe uploaded a photo of Iko and kung fu legend Jackie Chan. “Happy birthday my brother Iko Uwais, keep spreading your wings to all over the world and becoming the pride of Indonesia and all of us,” Joe said in the caption, adding that he could not wait to watch Iko’s performance in his latest film, Mile 22.

According to tempo.co, Iko replied to the message saying, “thank you so much my beloved big brother. It means a lot, ‘bang’ [brother]. Good luck to you too in Africa.”

Joe and Iko were first seen performing together in action-thriller The Raid (2011). Directed by Gareth Evans, Iko (Rama) and Joe (Jaka) star as members of a special team assigned to eliminate a drug lord.

Today, Joe and Iko are working on separate projects. Joe will make his American TV show debut in Warrior, a war drama on Cinemax. Filming for the project took place in South Africa. He is also a star in South Korean film Swordsman, which is set to be released this year.

Meanwhile, Iko, who stars in science-fiction film Beyond Skyline, recently wrapped up production for Mile 22, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan and Ronda Rousey. (wir/mut)
