outh Korean company Samsung finally revealed its long-awaited flagship products, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, on Sunday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The smartphones boast several new features, including super slow-motion (960 fps on 1080p) to increase dramatic effects on videos, an aperture of f/1.5 to capture objects in dim lighting and animoji to enhance user experience when communicating virtually.
Price-wise, kompas.com reported that the devices would be available starting Rp 11,499,000 (US$842) for Galaxy S9 (4GB RAM, 64GB); Rp 12,999,000 for Galaxy S9 Plus (6GB RAM, 64GB) and Rp 14,499,000 for Galaxy S9 Plus (6GB RAM, 256GB).

The prices are higher than their predecessors, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which are sold at Rp 10.5 million and Rp 12 million, respectively.
"New products, new technology. For Indonesians, the target market for the S series is actually not about the price, but the value of the device," Samsung Indonesia corporate marketing director Jo Semidang told kompas.com in Barcelona on Sunday.
In addition to the 12 megapixels main camera with an aperture feature that can be operated mechanically, the Galaxy S9 also comes with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845 processor and a 3,000 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Plus version boasts a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, similar processor and a 3,500 mAh battery. (kes)
