According to CNET, it offers a terrifying example of how futuristic theme parks can go terribly wrong. The first season of Westworld takes place in an Old West-style theme park run by the Delos Corporation, where paying guests mingle with realistic android hosts, and everything from murder to rape is on the menu.

CNET also reported that there’s a hidden trailer inside the official trailer, and fans have been trying to decipher symbols and find deeper meanings of the codes.

The series has been nominated for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, among others.

It was named the Most Exciting New Series in the 2017 Critics’ Choice Television Awards, while Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton were named as Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The first season of Westworld (2016) is available on HBO On Demand and airs every Saturday night on HBO from now until April 21.

Based on the film written by Michael Crichton, the second season was created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who also acted as executive producers with J. J. Abrams, among others. (wng)
