American comedian, writer, political commentator and television host Seth Meyers welcomed his second son in a dramatic way.
CNN reported that the comedian told his Late Night (Late Night with Seth Meyers) talk show audience that his new baby Axel Strahl was born on April 8 in the lobby of his New York apartment building.
Meyers said his wife Alexi Ashe went into labor that progressed quickly. He couldn’t assure her that she would make it to the hospital before the baby came out. The baby was born right there in the lobby, assisted by a doula.
The Washington Post wrote that for the delivery of his baby, Meyers also thanked the doormen in his building, the police officers, firefighters and doctors.
Apparently for Meyers, “progressive childbirth” is not foreign to him. His first son, Ashe Olsen, who is now 2 years old, was almost born in an Uber. Meyers was reported to have ordered an Uber this time, but as he and his wife didn’t make it and he was charged a cancellation fee.

Later on, according to The Washington Post, which received a statement from Uber, the ride-hailing company was happy for Meyers and his wife for the birth of Axel Strahl. They refunded the trip and sent their best wishes. (ely/mut)
