ony has begun to develop a whole new set of film spin-offs based off Marvel’s “Spider-man” comic book. Directed by Ruben Fleisher, who previously helmed post-apocalypse horror movie Zombieland, Venom is currently the first spin-off that the company is planning to release.

The first teaser trailer for this movie was released last February, although the antihero character itself did not appear anywhere in the trailer, disappointing many fans. But it seems that the newly released trailer is trying to make up for it by giving more juicy information about what to expect for the upcoming flick, which follows journalist Eddie Brock who is taken over by some kind of black alien-like matter, changing his body and mind dramatically and giving him super cool new alien powers.

Set to be released on Oct. 5, Venom will feature notable cast members like Tom Hardy as Venom, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson and Riz Ahmed.

Following the release of Venom, fans can also expect to enjoy another spin-off titled Silver & Black, which will put spotlight on Marvel's Silver Sable and Black Cat characters. (ely/kes)
