resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana attended the wedding reception of standup comedian and writer Raditya Dika and Anissa Aziza at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place’s Grand Ballroom in South Jakarta on Saturday.

According to kompas.com, Jokowi was seen wearing a black suit and red tie at the event, meanwhile Iriana looked elegant in a blue kebaya.

Accompanied by Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), Jokowi and Iriana entered the ballroom and congratulated the bride and groom right away. Radit and Anissa appeared delighted to welcome the President and First Lady.

“Thank you Bapak Jokowi for making the time to attend and give your blessings to the bride and groom,” said the master of ceremonies.

 Jokowi didn’t stay long after answering questions from the media.  

“I [came here to] congratulate the bride and groom, Mas Raditya and Mbak Anissa. I hope the couple builds a home sakinah mawadah warahmah [filled with peacefulness, love and blessings from God] family,” said Jokowi. “Mas Raditya was a vlogger, blogger, and later a comedian, comic, I think everyone is happy for the married [couple] this evening. Congratulations.”

Radit and Anissa were married in the afternoon in an Islamic wedding ceremony at the same venue. (kes)
