“Starting from today until August, there will be many activities, because we don't want Wiro Sableng’s screening to be an ordinary screening, but a celebration that Wiro Sableng, once again, is descending from the mountain to greet his fans,” said Sheila “Lala” Timothy, the film’s producer, during the release of the teaser on Friday, May 11, in Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta.
Lala is certain the teaser is able to answer people’s questions about the film. “I feel the teaser already gives enough hints of what the film will be like,” she said, adding that they were currently still in the post-production phase.
Due to the high demand from fans, Wiro Sableng is now slated to premiere in August instead of the previously planned September.
“The fans’ enthusiasm has been amazing, especially when we recently announced we wanted to release the teaser [trailer],” said Lala. “After discussing it with the team and 20th Century Fox, we decided to move the release date forward to grant fans’ wishes.”
The official trailer of Wiro Sableng is set to be released closer to the premiere date. Moreover, the teaser will also be screened in Singapore tonight during the private screening of Deadpool 2. (asw)
