E-commerce JD.ID has collaborated with acclaimed fashion designer Biyan in the exclusive Studio 133 Biyan collection.
In a press conference prior to Biyan’s fashion show in Jakarta on Tuesday, both the designer and JD.ID stated that the love of originality and authenticity united them.
“We hold the same values, and we view Biyan as one of the best designers in Indonesia. We are very honored to have him on JD.ID,” said Stephanie Susilo, head of luxe and fashion at JD.ID.
As for Biyan, this is his first experience in the online retail world.

“With a career of over 36 years, I see how generations have changed. But I still love to translate fashion for the current generation. Fashion has to be relevant, as it needs to represent its time,” he said.
The ready-to-wear collection consists of 11 modest clothing items in the first phase, available since May 22 on the website. Tunics, kaftans, pants and scarves of satin and silk are imbued with songket and tenun (traditional woven) motifs. The color navy mixed with earthy tones are meant to evoke the feeling of Indonesia. The prices range from Rp 2.09 million to Rp 5.25 million.
Founded in 1985, Studio 133 is known for classic and sophisticated designs in silk. (wng)
