magine a friend just uploaded a picture of both of you and you desperately want to repost it. Good news for those feeling bored of screenshotting everything and clogging up their gallery as Instagram has found a solution.
The app just rolled out a new feature for when somebody mentions you in a story in either video or photo form that gives the option to instantly repost the photo or video on your own story feed.
Also known as @mention sharing, this feature is only available when a person is tagged in a story.

It’s a very simple feature — to learn if you’re using it correctly, a pop-up appears with the words “mentioned users may repost this story for 24 hours”. The person mentioned will get a notification in their DM stating that they’ve been the chosen and may post the photo in their own story.
Previous story features apply: a friend will be able to preview the picture, add stickers and more. Followers will also be able to see the original account of the post, and be able to tap it in the profile.
This update only applies to accounts set on public mode, and is part of the Instagram version 48 on both Android and iOS. (ely/kes)
