The Idul Fitri holiday is just around the corner. Many Jakarta residents have traveled to their hometown to celebrate Idul Fitri with their loved ones.
To mark the beginning of the holiday, Google Indonesia launched on Wednesday a doodle of its logo dedicated to the annual homebound exodus, locally known as mudik.
Dubbed Mudik 2018, the doodle was created by Cynthia Yuan Cheng. It displays a variety of vehicles on the road, such as minivans and scooters, with big boxes strapped to the roof. Meanwhile, the background displays skyscrapers, the National Monument (Monas) as well as houses in a village, illustrating travelers heading home from the capital.
Once users click the logo, they will be redirected to a search page filled with links to pages for information and the latest news about mudik.
Last year, Google Indonesia also launched the Mudik 2017 doodle one week before the Idul Fitri holiday, marking the start of the annual exodus. (asw)
