Deputy chairman of the Indonesian Film Agency Dewi Umaya said the films attracted around 500 viewers.

As quoted by Antara, Dewi said the numbers were good as it was not an easy task to screen foreign films in China, particularly at a prestigious film festival like the SIFF.

Prior to being chosen for the festival, the films had to go through a tight selection process, translation and had to meet the country’s regulations.

She expressed her hope that the next SIFF would feature more Indonesian films and these films could also enter China’s film industry. (jes/kes)
