Indonesian jazz prodigy Joey Alexander released a new music video titled “Bali” on Friday.
The song is part of his latest album Eclipse, which was released in May.
Produced by Yasunari Rowan, the heartwarming video shows Joey exploring his birthplace, Bali. The video features popular places, such as Sanur Beach and the Campuhan ridge walk in Ubud.
On his Facebook page, the 15-year-old jazz pianist writes, “This is where it all started. Surrounded by beautiful nature and island life, this is where jazz first entered my ears and my musical journey began.”

The five-minute video also presents a day in a life of the Balinese, including children playing football, women performing a religious ritual and a bird’s eye view shot of the island.
Rowan writes on his Facebook page that he had less than five days to capture the soul of the island and its people.
“Our goal was to capture real Bali,” he said.
Born in 2003 in Denpasar, Joey began to play piano at the tender age of six. Prior to moving to New York City in 2014, the talented musician lived in Jakarta from age eight to 10.
Joey was the first Indonesian musician to be nominated for a Grammy Award. (kes)
