The four-day Jakarta Modest Fashion Week (JMFW) officially came to an end with an exhibition of eight modest brands on Sunday.

Held at Gandaria City, South Jakarta, from July 26 to 29, the JMFW was closed with the #Markamarie x Metro Department Store showcase.

The brands, from both local and foreign designers, included Medina Zein Boutique, Lina Sukijo, Hijab Sabine and Uma Privee, as well as Imen Bousnina (Austria) and Fllumae (United States). The designers of Wardah Beauty also held an exclusive show to showcase collaborations from the likes of designer Dian Pelangi, actress Dewi Sandra and public figure Inneke Koesherawati.

With the JMFW held in the lead up to the 2018 Asian Games, a number of designers took the opportunity to showcase more sporty looks, such as Batam-based designer Lina Sukijo and Medina Zein with her “Modern Warrior” collection.

“My collection still carries the syar’i concept, but the design is more sporty and energetic with minimal layers,” said Lina.

Singer Rendy Pandugo, who recently collaborated with fellow singers Afgan and Isyana Sarasvati, closed the event by performing his hit songs. (anm/wng)
