Indonesian horror film Sebelum Iblis Menjemput (Before the Devil Comes for You) will be screened in Malaysia in September.
“It will be screened overseas, including in Malaysia,” actress Chelsea Islan, who plays Alfie in the film, told kompas.com.
The film’s co-producer Abimana Aryasatya also shared that the film, directed by Timo Tjahjanto, would be distributed outside Indonesia and participate in a film competition.

“In order to make profits, we cannot only distribute [the film] in this country. Hence, we will join a competition, but I cannot say what it is [right now],” Abimana said.
Premiering on Aug. 9, Sebelum Iblis Menjemput follows Alfie, who is seeking answers to what really happened to her father, Lesmana (Ray Sahetapy), in an old villa. Together with Maya (Pevita Pearce), the girls later realize that the villa hosts a dark secret. (wir/kes)
