Starbucks gives free tickets to 20 museums in Indonesia

Customers of Starbucks Indonesia are entitled to two free museum tickets for every purchase with a Starbucks Card from Aug. 30 until Nov. 1.

tarbucks Indonesia is currently giving away free tickets to 20 museums in Indonesia, including the National Museum and Basoeki Abdullah Museum in Jakarta; the Affandi Museum and Benteng Vredeburg (Fort Vredeburg) Museum in Yogyakarta; and Panji Museum in Malang, East Java.

The campaign, part of the program Ayo ke Museum (Let’s Go to the Museum), is being held in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Preservation and Museum Directorate at the Education and Culture Ministry's Culture Directorate General.

Slated to run until Nov. 1, customers are entitled to two free museum tickets for every purchase with a Starbucks Card. However, the program is only available in participating stores in 15 cities, namely Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Cirebon, Malang, Surakarta, Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, Samarinda, Lombok, Denpasar, Pontianak, Pekanbaru and Lampung.

The museum's entrance tickets are valid until Nov. 9.

Ayo ke Museum was first launched in 2008. It aims to increase public interest in museums and to foster an appreciation for Indonesian cultural values.

Starbucks Indonesia head of corporate public relations and communications Andrea Siahaan said in a statement, "Our hope is that everyone, especially the younger generation, can broaden their knowledge about history in a fun and exciting way by visiting museums." (jes/wng)
