YouTube Kids app now available for Indonesian users

After being introduced in 2015, child-friendly video-sharing platform YouTube Kids is now accessible in Indonesia.
Indonesian users can download the YouTube Kids app on iOS and Android devices starting Sept. 6.
Unlike regular YouTube, the app gives parents control over what their children can watch according to their age and education level, reported kompas.com.
"Our main priority is to give the best experience for families and children to access rich family-friendly content," said the head of kids and learning partnerships at YouTube Asia-Pacific, Don Anderson, in a statement.
Among the special features provided in the app are a child-friendly bright design to ease them in finding Nuara TV or the latest video on Kids TV Indonesia, a National Geographic Kids channel, which explores the world of fauna, and popular videos on channels Kastari and Keira Charma.

Parents are able to deactivate and reactivate YouTube Kids to limit what their kids can watch. They can also create a profile for their children, as well as change the password. YouTube Kids also provides a timer feature to limit the kids' watching time.
Anderson said the app would be developed further by bringing local and global content to Indonesia.
