fter a month, rapper Cardi B has finally opened up about what triggered her fight with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. The fight happened at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party at The Plaza Hotel New York in September, and it involved a shoe being thrown alongside curses.
Footage has surfaced on social media that appears to show that Cardi instigated the fight with a red-heel-throw attack, which sparked the scuffle with Nicki’s bodyguards.
An E! News witness reported that the fight had broken out so abruptly that it startled everyone.

Cardi B followed up with an Instagram post on Sep. 8, expressing that she felt Nicki had upset her in many ways. And the show-tossing rapper finally opened up to W magazine about what had started the altercation.
“I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter,” she said, adding that she was angry about Nicki Minaj liking and then un-liking a tweet about her parenting skills.
“I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass f*cking mom. So for someone that don’t have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.” Cardi B was quoted as saying.
According to E! News, Minaj denied that she had liked and then un-liked the tweet.
After the incident, Cardi B was reported to have left the Plaza Hotel with a visible mark above her left eye. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj was reported to have been surrounded by many guards and had barely even glanced at the new mom. (acr/mut)
