Often dubbed as one of Indonesia's scariest films, Pengabdi Setan won in categories Best Horror Film and Most Scary Film.
engabdi Setan (Satan’s Slaves) has brought home two awards from the 2018 Toronto After Dark Film Festival, which was held for nine days from Oct. 11 to 19 in Toronto, Canada.
Helmed by Joko Anwar, the horror flick won in categories Best Horror Film and Most Scary Film.
The film was screened on Oct. 14 at 6:45 p.m. local time following the screening of Mirror, a short film by Jordan McEwen and Corey Glover.

Released in 2017, Pengabdi Setan follows the story of a family that experiences unexplained phenomena after the passing of their mother. It features Tara Basro, Ayu Laksmi, Bront Palarae and Endy Arfian.
Other recognitions received so far by Pengabdi Setan are the Feature Film Jury Prize at the 2018 Overlook Film Festival and Best Director at the 2017 Maya Awards. (wir/kes)
