As reported by HuffPost, the teaser shows a map of Westeros, Game of Thrones’ fictional landscape, swept over by ice and fire. Ice covers the figures of the show’s sigil animals direwolf (House of Stark) and dragon (House of Targaryen), while fire engulfs a lion figure (House of Lannister). The two elements clash in the middle at the end of the clip.
Considering that this will be the show’s last season, the clash might foreshadow a massive final battle occurring before the show concludes.
The elements’ appearance could also correspond to the name of the book series Game of Thrones is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Game of Thrones season eight is set to begin in April next year. (iru/kes)
