JAKARTA: Musician-cum-conductor Erwin Gutawa (see photo) would collaborate with choreographer Jay Subiyakto to hold an Islamic-themed concert title The Spirit of Ramadhan.
The concert, which will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sept. 9, will bring to life the peaceful propagation by Wali Songo, the nine propagators of Islam in Java.
"I've had the idea for the concert for about four years, but I only got the chance to realize it now," Erwin said in a press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe.
The concert will feature several top artists and bands that have successfully produced religious albums, such as Bimbo, Opick, Sulis, Ungu and Erwin's teenage-daughter singer Gita Gutawa, Antara reported. --JP
