KUALA LUMPUR: Prolific Indonesian songwriter and singer Melly Goeslaw has written a song for the soundtrack of upcoming Malaysian comedy flick Cicak-man 2: Planet Hitam (Cicak-Man 2: Black Planet), amid calls from Malaysian artists to restrict the number of Indonesian songs in radio broadcast.
Like other film scores she has written, Melly will also sing the song she wrote, which is titled Dibius Cinta (Drugged by Love), in a duet with famous Malaysian singer Yusry KRU, Antara reported.
Yusry, who directed the movie, said he was surprised that Melly was interested in the movie, willing to write a song for it and sing it in a duet with him. He said Melly became interested in joining the film's production after watching its prequel, Cicak-Man (2006).
Cicak-Man 2, which tells the story of a superhero comparable to Hollywood's Spiderman, Batman or Superman, is produced by KRU Studios in collaboration with Grand Brilliance. It will be released on Dec. 1. JP
