Letter: Air China's service

As a very frequent traveler, I recently had an unpleasant experience on Air China. I want to share this experience with other travelers. On Sept. 21, I flew from Singapore to Xiamen on flight CA 958. Everything went smoothly from the time I checked-in, through to boarding and being allocated my seat (16D). However, some flight attendant had the worst attitude and performance of all time.

When I informed one of them about passengers behind talking too loudly and disrupting me, she didn't pay much attention. Furthermore, the service by this particular flight attendant was awful.

When serving drinks, due to her negligence, the box of juice slipped out of her hands and spilled all over my clothes. She made no effort to apologize or help me clean the stain off my clothing. She continued with her tasks as though nothing had ever happened.

Eventually, her colleague felt bad about it and said sorry to me. She was kind enough to fetch me some napkins. An hour before landing, the passenger sitting next to me (16C) asked for a glass of water from a steward, and he served it roughly and it spilled over her clothes.

She was upset and complained, but instead he told her off by saying "It was not my fault! The water spilled by itself!"

I witnessed the whole incident with my own eyes. I could not believe how rude and unprofessional he was!

He still didn't own up to his mistake after I politely told him that he was being careless. I was so upset and decided ask for his name.

He stared at me, arrogantly saying "his name" and left. I felt I was verbally abused. He was the worst flight attendant I've ever encountered.

Unfortunately, I must say, Air China service on this flight was totally unsatisfactory, I only expected a standard level of service from the airline. It is unnecessary for these things to happen.

More importantly, I wish to address the public and hopefully Air China would take this matter seriously before further damage is done to tarnish their reputation. Otherwise, the crew member who was incompetent, rude, unhelpful and uncaring will always have a negative impact on Air China.
