OGYAKARTA, Yogyakarta: A group of cultural workers, artists and academics in Yogyakarta declared itself Tuesday the Nusantara Cultural Guards group.
Established at the Taman Siswa Great Hall, the group was formed out of concern over current poli-tical practices taking the guise of cultural ones.
"This grouping is purely for cultural and environmental activities and will not turn to politics," initiator Heni Astiyanto said.
"We aim to return culture to public interests ahead of the general elections."
