In his letter (the Post, March 12) Roger Otip claims that according to RSS and UAH global temperature measurements, there has been continued global warming since 1998. One only has to look at the graphs, which are available on the Internet that Otip's claim is wrong. He is spreading fear about melting glaciers and melting polar caps. The fact is that there are also many glaciers expanding, like glaciers in the Western Himalayas, to give just one example (source: American Meteorological Society).
Another fact is that sea ice levels around Antarctica in 2008 have never been so large since at least 1978 (source: NASA). Unfortunately, these facts do not suit the theory of anthropogenic global warming and therefore are never mentioned by global warming alarmists.
For the past 100 years "climate experts" have been spreading fear for an imminent global cooling, global warming, global cooling and now again global warming. On all three previous occasions they were wrong and the exact opposite happened.
After these failures, one would expect some modesty from climate experts regarding their skill of predicting future global temperatures. Unfortunately, there is no modesty at all and again this time, the climate experts are 100 percent certain that we all should be very scared, because global warming is imminent. Fool me three times, shame on you, fool me four times, shame on me!
