AKARTA: With a budget of Rp 100 billion (US$8.3 million), the education agency of South Jakarta will soon revamp 81 schools in poor condition.
According to Sarjoko, head of the agency's building repairs unit, 76 elementary schools and five junior high school buildings will be repaired.
Classes will still be taught in the meantime, he said. The school buildings are damaged mostly in the ceilings, because of termites. He said he planned to change the construction of the roofs using light steel frames.
